Within the ranks of the Vocal Majority chorus resides a special “insider” quartet who doesn’t compete or sing at shows. They sing purely to lift up people in need of comfort, whether they are sick, or whether it’s a funeral for a loved one.

Steve Haas, Nick Alexander, Todd Roberts and Steve Brandt (pictured above) make up this quartet and recently they received this message, speaking once again to the power and appreciation for what all of us do when we sing:

Hello, Nick and the other 3 men of your quartet!  I am writing on behalf of my husband and myself, Bill and Sheryl Overstreet, to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for coming to Palomino Place Nursing Home in Mesquite on Sunday, April 30th to sing for my husband's brother.  He had loved and appreciated the Vocal Majority for many, many years and had come to Dallas from his home in Alabama to hear the group perform on numerous occasions.  But your performance in his room on that day was, by far, the most special of all.  Bob had been ill and bedridden for 8+ months and seeing the expression on his face and knowing the effort it took for him to clap, brought our family to tears. 

And, of course, none of us knew at the time that 8 days later he would pass away.  Your gift to him became even more special.  We thank you for taking time out of your Sunday to provide that bright spot in his life and your kindness will never be forgotten.  May God bless your ministry.
