The following announcement was made June 4, 2020 by the Headquarters of the  Barbershop Harmony Society. It follows the action as taken by the Board of Directors of the Southwestern District a few days ago. We held this announcement to you pending the attached unified announcement from Nashville. This was a difficult decision but it was necessary. We wanted to make the right decision considering the health and welfare of our members. We will endeavor to keep everyone informed of future developments.
=============================================================================
The 17 districts of the Society, representing all the chapters in the US and Canada, have been in constant communication with each other, the judging community, and BHS staff to evaluate the ever-changing conditions of COVID-19 and its implications on our core activities. Each district has now formally or informally confirmed its Board of Directors or House of Delegates decisions to cancel Fall Conventions for 2020.
It is a tough decision to set aside one of the central activities and budget items for the year, and it shows how your district leaders continue to prioritize your health and safety. BHS staff will continue to work with all districts as they innovate programming throughout the year and discover new virtual ways to connect.
Information about refunds, rescheduling, or alternate virtual events will be provided by your district.

Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.

In Harmony,
