The Bay City Coastalaires, directed by Mike Henderson, recently offered a series of three shows at the Bay City Country Club in Bay City, Texas.

All three shows June 25, 26 and 27 were very good, well attended with enthusiastic crowds.On each night of the performance they announced the current scholarship recipients and the amount each would receive. A total of $4000.00 was given to five recipients.

Three of the recipients were on the risers singing with the chorus. These three are currently enrolled in college with one pursuing a degree in music. The other two recipients were local girls, one who is the granddaughter of a Coastalaire and the other who has performed with a local musical acting company. One of the girls will pursue a degree in music.

The Coastalaires feel that this is what it's all about. Entertaining the folks and putting smiles on peoples faces along with exposing and encouraging our youth to getting involved with their brand of music.

That is how the Barbershop Harmony Society will grow. Put it out there for all to see.
